Applebee is an editor, writing coach, and art writer living in Athens,
Greece. She collaborates at Pyxida Intercultural Council to lead a
writing workshop for refugees focused on expression, mindfulness, and
growth. Her first book length collection of poetry, Aletheia, was
published by Black Square Editions in 2017, and her poems, essays, and
critical work have appeared in Absent, Ditch, So and So, Hot Metal
Bridge, and others.
She has taught and mentored writers at many levels—from undergraduates to doctoral candidates, poets to professionals—for over ten years. She has extensive experience working with people of diverse learning styles, and is passionate about fostering the development of writers through collaboration and support. She holds an MFA in nonfiction and poetry, as well as a certificate in Rhetoric and Composition, from the University of Pittsburgh (2010), and a B.A. in English from Davidson College.
